Marginalized Youth Against Disinformation: Building Media Literacy in 2025
In 2025, a new initiative will empower rural youth from Ukraine and Armenia to recognize, challenge, and counter false narratives. Through a mix of online workshops, a digital platform, and an international youth exchange in Berlin and Paris, the project equips young people with the skills to strengthen media literacy and civic resilience.
The program begins with local-language online workshops (May–August 2025) reaching more than 200 youth in Ukraine and Armenia. Participants will learn to spot bias, verify sources, and practice responsible digital storytelling. Their work will be showcased on a dedicated digital platform (June–November 2025), featuring blogs, videos, and campaigns created by over 100 young people.
The highlight is a 17-day cultural exchange in Berlin and Paris (October–November 2025), bringing together 28 participants from Germany, Ukraine, Armenia, and France. Alongside practical training, the exchange fosters cross-border dialogue and collaboration.
The initiative emphasizes gender parity (≥50% women), inclusive participation, and long-term sustainability through a platform and youth network that will remain active beyond 2025.
Led by European Progressive Youth e.V. (Germany) with partners in Ukraine, Armenia, and France, this project gives marginalized youth the tools to detect disinformation, create responsibly, and contribute confidently to democratic life.
